Making Chakra Meditation a Big Part of Your Life

Meditation is one of the best things you can do to bring a little relief to your mind, your spirit and even your physical body. It is a practice which has been with us for thousands of years; the ancient civilization of India was one society well aware of the benefits provided by meditation. We in the West have come to an understanding of meditation as a tool for achieving better mental and spiritual health only recently. On of the most effective and simple methods of meditation (and for precisely this reason, the most popular) is Chakra meditation.

Meditation To Get Close To God

I have found that through meditation I can get closer to God than through prayer. I live on a lake back in the woods, so I’m in a perfect place for meditation. I sit on the deck in the late evening or at night and I meditate while I either watch the sun set over the water or while listening to the night sounds.

The End Of Experience

What’s happening?” What have you been up to?” What’s going on in your life?” We use these types of greetings every day in lives filled with things to do.

Any break in these nonstop activities is uncomfortable; when someone asks what is going on in our lives, it’s not cool to say “Nothing.” We would be considered boring—not at all fun to be around. Therefore, we spice it up; TV, the internet, movies, going here and there, relationships, family, friends, religion, careers, hobbies; they all contribute to make our lives interesting and active. A full life.

Self Help Meditation - A New Way To A Better Life

Self help is about individual improvement and about the manner in which you can improve yourself, your state of existence and your life. It is connected to many different categories such as health, wealth, happiness, relationships, self esteem, abundance, and the list goes on. It is a concept based on one’s abilities to gather the “mental” strength needed to improve their life. By being able to help one’s self it allows them to regain control of their life, make improvements and help others with similar difficulties.

Crisis Or Opportunity?

What now? You may be faced with a crisis of some sort. Perhaps a major lifestyle change or personal loss. There will be a tendency to question why this is occurring at this time and place. There are seldom suitable answers to these questions and that process alone is energy draining. You may feel unprepared to face a certain change. It can be overwhelming and anxiety causing.

It is vitally important at these times to remain quiet and depend on your inner resources. They may not have been tested to this degree before. This may be an opportunity in disguise. Our ability to respond appropriately at such times may later be viewed as crucial turning points. Whether they be deemed positive or negative depends upon our ability to remain centered.

The Journey Of Ten Thousand Miles

Many martial arts today pride themselves on being a “defensive art”. In other words, if someone attacks you, only then do you defend yourself. What if you are confronted by an assailant who you know is about to attack you but hasn’t yet. Let’s say the assailant is still in the “threatening mode”. Do you wait for him to attack? Well, if you follow the philosophy of a defensive art, you must wait…

If you want to survive however, you must attack first.

Catching A Falling Knife, Or - Advice To A Serious Meditator

Not expecting instant results is a good beginning but expect the kilesas!

Kilesa : Our inherent greed, hatred, and delusion.

Your kilesas will become downright annoyed that you are doing this (meditation), and will cause mischief for sure. They will attempt to sway you this way or that way. To begin with, they will make you painfully aware of any physical or mental weaknesses you may have or imagine that you have, and will attempt to force you to cut back or stop the practice. One of their favorite ploys is making you excruciatingly aware of your mortality, and scaring you with the thoughts of terrible, terminal illnesses that you might be harboring!
