Skateboarding - One Of The Most Exciting And Skilled Board Sports

Skateboarding has developed quite a bit in recent years. For decades when skateboarding was in its infancy, it was seen as an activity performed by youngsters, mainly rebel kids. In these earlier years skateboarders were perceived as outcasts who went around vandalizing other people’s property by skating on it. It is becoming more understood these days but it still has a long way to go before people will fully understand the skill and dedication that goes into this sport.

Skates – Tips On Selecting The Correct Skates

Skates can be used in many different ways. Some of the most common activities with skates are figure skating, ramp, hockey, stair riding, up and down hills, speed skating, commuting and so on. Before selecting a pair skates decide whether it is to be used for speed, hockey or multi-purpose.

The skating sports boom occurred in the 1880s and from that time onwards roller skates were mass produced to meet the demand. Richmond, Indiana based Micajah C Henley was producing more than a thousand pairs of skates every week and selling all of them. These skates were the first model to hit the markets with a provision to adjust the tension through the screws fitted at the base.

What Nhl Autographed Memorabilia You Can Find And Get

The National Hockey League is home to heroes and warriors aplenty. With each swerve and drive of the puck through the ice, sticks clash, players dash, and tempers fly. With each score, a player is hailed as a savior and hero. With each miss of the goalkeeper, groans and screams can be heard for miles. Such is the appeal of hockey, whether it is watched in its full glory live, or on television, where viewers can alternate between tearing their hair out and jumping out of their seats.

Are You A Quitter?

Ok, here’s the question for you this week: do you consider yourself a quitter? When faced with challenges, do you find it easier to fight thru them or sneak out the back door? Not sure, well let me give you a few scenarios and you tell me what you would’ve done.

Scenario #1: Grappler A’s (GA) has been training for all of 2 months and goes out of town and decides to visit another academy. The instructor puts GA with a senior level guy that’s already had a few pro-MMA matches and he hyper-extends GA’s elbow with an armbar so fast there was no time for GA to tap, just scream. As GA sat on the sideline icing his hurt elbow, he questioned why he ever wanted to do that stuff.

Pacman Will Gobble Up Barrera Again

I’ll get right to it - Manny Pacquiao will survive the early onslaught of the proud Marco Antonio Barrera, and knock him out to retain his junior lightweight title.

Barrera backers will say that he was not himself in the first fight due to promotional and managerial problems as well as other distractions which left him unable to focus squarely on Pacquiao. I say, it’s simply another excuse. Based on what I saw in their first bout in November 2003, I saw a faster, more powerful fighter (Pacquiao) batter a game, yet overmatched (Barrera), in a surprisingly one-sided fight.

The Queen Of Soccer - Mia Hamm Biography

Women’s soccer never would have been the same if Mia Hamm hadn’t started up soccer when she was little. She had such an impact in the women’s soccer world that she is often thought to mean as much for it as Pele or Cruyff meant for men’s soccer. But before being a great soccer player and athlete that broke down almost every possible record at her level, Mia Hamm is a great person and I’d like you to meet the human behind the soccer god in this Mia Hamm biography.

Wheelchair Archery Sports - Get Active, Get Fit, Challenge Yourself!

Archery is a sport that is open to athletes even with a physical disability. Even though this sport is very physically demanding, it is one sport that disabled athletes can compete on an equal basis with able-bodied people. In fact wheelchair target archery has been a Paralympic sport for more than 30 years, and still going strong.

There are of course, specific rules relating to wheelchair competitors. However all other rules of competition are the same with able-bodied target archery. The difference is that wheelchair archers are divided into 2 different classes whereas there are other classifications for standing archers. Wheelchair archers compete in either W1 for quadriplegic archers that allow them to use a release mechanism, or W2 which is open to all wheelchair archers. In recent years, wheelchair archery is becoming an increasingly popular sport for the wheelchair bound athletes.
