With A Little Help From My Friends

Some people will try and belittle your dreams. Some people will call you an old fool. Some people will be very supportive of you - those are the ones you want to hang around with.
Jean Johnson

We all need all the friends we can get - especially when we are getting older. The more friends we have, the better we tend to feel about ourselves (and the less likely we will be to die and lie there for weeks before anyone finds us - morbid, I know, but I bet it’s nothing you haven’t thought about before, is it?). However, the simple truth is that you won’t make new friends unless you put some effort into it.

After School Tutoring Benefits Students

If your child is struggling in school, after school tutoring may be an option to improve his understanding of academic concepts and increase his self esteem.

Children that struggle in a school may not have many opportunities to get one on one help with academics. Some children are hesitant to ask for help while others do not get the help they need even if they ask. This can be because of too many children in a classroom or not enough time for the teacher to review and repeat lessons that a child is having difficulty.

Nanny Services - Determining Your Requirements

Before interviewing prospective nannies, first determine which nanny services you will require, such as help with child care versus finding one to help with the cooking and cleaning as well. Also, determine when you would ideally like them to begin work. These things are essential to consider when it comes to hiring a nanny.

Time

Each family has specific needs as well as child care requirements. The first step is to determine how much time you will need one around the house, whether that be part-time or full-time. Obviously, a full-time nanny will cost more. Most full-time nannies live in-home, so you would need space to accommodate them. Plus, you’d need to determine their work schedule since nannies need time off too.

Better Voice Recognition Technology Being Pushed By Microsoft

In science fiction movies and TV shows the heroes always communicate with computers verbally in the form of a pleasant female voice that sounds surprisingly like the wife of the TV show’s producer. The exchange is always calm and pleasant, and moves along easily even if the conversation isn’t cheerful. This of course is a far cry from the voice recognition and voice synthesis software that we’re subjected to today. Most often we have to deal with voice recognition software while calling a customer service department, and the experience is rarely as pleasant as it is on Star Trek. These conversations are riddled with false starts where the system can’t understand the pronunciation of your name. And then when you spell your name, it still can’t get it right. Yet, despite the issues with modern voice recognition software, there’s an ever increasing push to incorporate it into the software that we use daily. This is especially true for customer service departments of large companies that are looking to cut costs. But there’s also a push to integrate voice recognition software with productivity software.
